Tree of Life Festival
Nature, Chennai, Us

Prakriti Foundation's annual Tree of Life Festival, takes place from 28th January to 6th February 2010, across different venues in Chennai.

Designed around the theme, 'Nature, Chennai, Us', the Tree of Life Festival aims to bring a greater awareness of the environment that nurtures and sustains us, to school children and the larger community. It involves storytelling sessions and spinning workshops in schools, with performances, nature walks, sand sculpting competitions, and art in various forms.

This year at the festival Prakriti Foundation will conduct story-telling sessions in schools by V.R.Devika, Parnab Mukherjee, Sonali Punjabi and Jeeva Raghunath. As this year is the centenary year of Gandhiji's Hind Swaraj, we are hosting a play, 'Unbound', based on the Hind Swaraj at different colleges in Chennai as well as a show for the general public. We will also be conducting a Tree Walk in association with Nizhal at The Birla Planetarium and Kalakshetra, and a sand sculpting competition at Elliots Beach.
