Vidya Dehejia holds the Barbara Stoler Miller Chair in Indian Art at Columbia University in New York city. She was previously Acting Director of the Freer Gallery of Art and the Arthur M.Sackler Gallery in Washington, D.C. Her recent publications include "Chola: Bronzes from South India" (2006) ; "The Sensuous and the Sacred: Chola Bronzes from South India (2002) ; "India through the Lens: Photography 1840-1911 (2000) ; "Devi, The Great Goddess (1999) ; "Indian Art, Phaidon's Art and Ideas Series (2007 reprint).
