Prakriti Foundation in association with The Park presents the launch of Witchcraft, a book
of poems by Sharanya Manivannan
Sharanya Manivannan was born in India in 1985, grew up elsewhere, and currently lives in Chennai. She is the author of a collection of poems, "Witchcraft" (Bullfighter Books, 2008). The recipient of the Lavanya Sankaran Fellowship for 2008-2009 from Sangam House, she is working on a novel, "Constellation of Scars", and a second collection of poems, "Bulletproof Offering". Her column, "The Venus Flytrap", appears in Zeitgeist, The New Indian Express. Sharanya is best-known for her work as a spoken word artist, and has performed extensively since 2001, at venues as diverse as an abandoned pier, a cemetery, and the 11th century Borobudur stupa in Indonesia. |
