Dr.Mukulika Banerjee is Reader in
Social Anthropology, University of London. She is the author of The Pathan
Unarmed: Opposition & Memory in the North West Frontier (World Anthropology
Series X, 2000); The Sari (co-authored with Daniel Miller, 2003); Muslim
Portraits: Everyday Lives in India (Ed): A collection of papers by anthropologists
on individual Muslim lives in India (2008); Editor, Book series Exploring
the Political in South Asia with Routledge Publishers. Mukulika studied
at Lady Shri Ram College and at Delhi School of Economics and holds a doctorate
in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford.
