Ellen Alt has an in M.A. Studio Art, New York University and a B.F.A.in Art Education, Massachusetts College of Art. She has received the ISH Shalom Foundation Grant, Israel, has been artist in residence at Art Park, New York and is currently the Artist in Residence at Park Avenue Synagogue in New York. Her collections are at Pfizer Corporate Collection, the Ben Uri Art Society and The White House, Washington D.C.

Ellen Alt is doing a mural project on a wall with the children of Gnanadeepam, a training institute for the mentally challenged at Pammal, Chennai from April 14 - 17th. Collaborating with sculptor and artist from Chennai, Ezhilarasan.
