"I travel throughout the year
to cities in India, Bangladesh and Iran. I create portraits of people such
as dancers, writers, artists, businesswomen and people on the street. I
blend these model portraits from different cities and countries in a different
background using photographic material."
Pascal Monteil is on tour in India,
through the network of Alliances Françaises, with the support of
the French Embassy. In each city, he realizes portraits of personalities,
"The Spirit of the Cities" which will be added to this exhibition.

His artistic work is a mix of painting
and photography, consisting of creating different types of images, all
created through photography assisted by new technologies and image softwares.
This combination offers large landscapes and portraits composed as paintings
but with the look and feel of photography. For Pascal Monteil, the subtleties
emerging from the use of technological artifices, allow him to re-create
the reality and reach emotions.
We would like to thank Kiran Rao
of Amethyst for her invaluable assistance in realizing this project.
