"Last Bus to Vasco": Poems from Goa by Brian Mendonca

Brian Mendonca, Goan poet and musician self-published his debut volume
of poems 'Last Bus to Vaso: Poems from Goa' (2006). The volume which
comes with an audio CD of the poems in his voice with an accompanying soundtrack
has since been reprinted. An 'India-vidual', he has been traveling
across India and abroad, writing and publishing poetry about the paces
he visits. His readings have regaled clumps of poetry lovers at Pilgrim's
Bookshop, Thamel, Katmandu; students of the University of Kashmir, Srinagar;
the Maharajah of Kachchh at his Ranjit Vilas Palace in Bhuj; young poetry
writers at Jorhat, Assam and itinerant hippies at a fishnet bookshop on
a monsoon day in Candolim, Goa.
A publishing professional, Brian works in Delhi with a leading University
Press as editor of children's books. His doctorate in English literature
from CIEFL, Hyderabad was on insanity in the English Gothic novel.
His current interests include reading Jose Saramago in Portugese and interpreting
world music on classical guitar.
