Sthri:
An evening of Bharatanatyam and Poetry
Mother . Lover

in association
with "The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras"
Venue: IC & SR Auditorium
(Near Gajendra Circle), IIT Madras
Multi dimensional, multi faceted,
women's identities are constantly shifting and expanding to encompass a
range of possibilities.
Taking inspiration from portrayals
of women in mythology, the program weaves poetry, dance and story to depict
the various "avatars" of a woman. Choreographed within a traditional framework,
the program blends diverse voices from both the classical and contemporary
world of narrative. Sthri explores the question of what it means to be
a woman.
