'Panikkudam', is a Tamil literary quarterly for women writing. The magazine 'Panikkudam' embodies a desire to create niche in the world of Tamil Literature and Poetry for feminine language. Panikkudam seeks to establish women's viewpoints on varied aspects such as family, politics, business etc. discovery of feminine language, introducing modern play, novels, short stories and poetry created by women writers and providing a platform for discussing such an ideology are important among the missions of this magazine. Interviews of women writiers, intoduction to modern poetry and short stories, translations of such works into Tamil from World languages, discussions of the creative process and sangam literature are some of the elements that make up this magazine. Panikkudam has the distinction of being the first Tamil feminist literary magazine."
