ALL ARE WELCOME
Between December
2005 and March 2006, three photographers (two Indians and a French) explored
South India together and participated in several important religious ceremonies.
Through their lens, these humungous congregations of men, rituals, beliefs
and dialogues between the human beings and their faith unfold a rare and
intimate portrait of India.
Four religions
are represented here through spectacular ceremonies: Deepam and Sivaratri
at Tiruvannamalai for Hinduism, Kalachakra at Amaravati for Buddhism, Id
Muharam at Chennai for Islam and Mahamastakabisheka at Saravanabelagola
for Jainism.
Three talented
perspectives presented in one exhibition.
