Prakriti Foundation and Teamworkfilms, New Delhi present an illustrated talk by Welby Altidor, Artistic Talent Scout, Cirque Du Soleil, Montreal
Venue:
Sundar Mahal, Padmavathiar Road, Jeypore Colony (off Gopalapuram)
After majoring in theatre and communications at Montreal's Conservatoire Lasalle,
Welby's eclectic personality led him to explore a variety of other disciplines,
including philosophy, politics and public relations. He was a key player in one of
Canada's most prestigious casting agencies and has been responsible for many local
and international film and television projects. Over the past few years, he has
covered events on nearly every continent, and is particularly fond of discovering
new, relatively unexplored territories.
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
Through a mix of street performance, circus arts, dance, theatre, music and singing,
Cirque du Soleil has given life to a magical new universe. At the centre of this
creative energy are artists at the pinnacle of their art. The Casting team travels the
world to attend international festivals, scout out underground talent, establish
networks of contacts and meet artists through a unique audition process. The artists
hail from more than 45 different countries.
Cirque du Soleil is not only looking for individuals with specific athletic or artistic ability, but also for those who are willing to express their inner
creativity. Each year, the Casting team must find several hundred artists to meet the needs of the shows in performance as well as new shows
and projects.
