Apart from being a 'first' for Chennai,it's a great opportunity for music lovers to enjoy the grandeur of this musical tradition. Only its soaring spirit can match the greatness of Carnatic music. 

The festival needs to be widely publicised so that it draws Carnatic music afficionados --as well as the usual suspects. 

Might be a good idea to personally invite Carnatic vidwans.This idiotic North-South divide has to be crossed over.
